Every year, Santa Barbara County's hottest local wineries will gather for an exclusive tasting at Les Marchands Wine Bar & Merchant. Attendees will have a unique opportunity to not only be the first to taste unreleased wines from the upcoming vintage, but to purchase these wines at a 20% discount of standard retail.

The Santa Barbara County Wine Futures Tasting shines a light on the emerging local
wine area and allows consumers and trade alike to secure allocations of the most
dynamic and relevant producers in the region. Notable producers that took part in the inaugural event on August 10, 2013 included Au Bon Climat, Qupe, and The Ojai Vineyard, as well as recent standout projects such as Sandhi, Tatomer, and Tyler Winery.

Doug Margerum, who started the original futures program in 1987, when his family
owned the Wine Cask, is happy the torch is being relit. “I am thrilled someone is re-championing it again, it’s really good for the wine community and really promotes the wines of this area to a broader audience. Eric Railsback is a superstar in the wine business as is his partner, Brian McClintic; I think they’ll do a great job. Santa Barbara County needs some advocates and these are the perfect guys to do it.”

Tickets are $70 in advance and $80 at the door.
