The accolades are pouring in waves for Maxime Cheurlin, a fifth generation winemaker and grandson of Georges Noëllat, who took over the domaine at the age of 20 back in 2010. So before he could order a beer in the USA he had full control over 5.5 hectares of parcels including the 1er Cru Vosne Romanée ‘Les Chaumes’, ‘Les Beaux Monts’, and the Grand Crus of Echezeaux and Grands Echezeaux. How did he get there? His grandfather Georges passed away in the 1990s and his grandmother leased the vineyards to Jadot for the next 20 years. Meanwhile, Maxime was born in Champagne and then grew up with world-class winemaking lineage all around, being a nephew of the Jayer family and cousin to the Rouget family where Emmanuel spent years working under Henri Jayer before opening his own domaine.
