Francois-Xavier Barc was the director and winemaker for many years at the famous Chinon estate, Charles Joguet. In 2010 he, with a friend, created Complices de Loire a micro negociant operation that would focus on making wine in 8 of the Loire appellations. Working with several of the top growers in the regions, and drawing on his own impeccable reputation, Barc is able to select the best plots and pick the best grapes for his wines. Hand crafted from a single 2.4ha vineyard of sand and clay located on the slope of the Cher river. Barc vinifies this 100% gamay in stainless steel tanks and ages in 6000-liter barrels for 8 months.
